Thank you to all who helped: reduced worry about health care
Finally, with universal, fair health care:
I don't need to fear leaving a dead end job,
I don't need to remain living somewhere I don't want to live because I lose my health care if I change states,
I don't need to worry because my husband has two kinds of cancer and, even with good health insurance, may exceed the lifetime maximum,
I don't need to be afraid that my daughter will be denied insurance in the future if she seeks a doctor's care for some condition now,
I don't need to worry that my grandson will be losing his coverage because he is turning 21.
I once asked a client who had been disabled by diabetes for many years, and who was getting better, what had made the difference. He told me that he had not been able to afford test strips. But a friend died and left him a supply of test strips, so he was managing his diabetes. He was returning to work. Now this ceases to be an issue.
This health care reform frees us from so much anxiety over health care issues. It can release a new era of creativity and personal freedom. Thank you to all who helped make it possible!
The ACA is still a work in progress. We are ready to improve and retain. Trumpcare brings back way too familiar fears and insecurities around procuring quality healthcare.
Rachel Maddow called it one of the most extreme transfers of wealth from the poor to the rich ever.
Amen.
